The Lasso tool
- One of the most flexible selection tools in Photoshop is actually the Lasso tool. That said, the Lasso tool is not the first tool that I go to, pretty much ever, when I need to create a selection, and yet, it is actually one of the tools that I find most useful. What does all of that mean? Well, it really means that while the Lasso tool isn't necessarily great for creating your initial selection, it is very helpful for cleaning up your selections. So let's take a look at an example here. A good example of how we might put the lasso tool to use. If I wanted to create a selection of this statue for example, the Lasso tool would not be a good selection tool to use. I'll go ahead and choose the Lasso tool. And first, let's just get a sense of how that tool works. You'll see that on the Options bar there are some familiar settings from other selection tools, but nothing especially unique because the Lasso tool is a very simple selection tool.
