Launching Photoshop on iPad

- [Instructor] When you first open up Photoshop on your iPad and you've signed in you'll be greeted with this screen, which is a customized view of the home screen for your first visit or when you have no recent documents. And here in the main screen area at top, you will find there most prominently a prompt for an interactive tour. And then below that an invite to open an image and also a call to suggest a feature. On the left you'll have a few options which we will be seeing these throughout the course as we work through some projects so I won't dither around with them now. Once you've had a document open, then that view will change to reflect what you've been working on recently, and as you can now see is the case on my own iPad, and we're looking at that right now, you can see a moon file that I've had open there. So the home screen is pretty much the start of everything in Photoshop on the iPad and it's here where we create or open documents along with some management of recent files and our cloud documents and files from Adobe Fresco and files also created in the desktop version of Photoshop, and saved as cloud documents. At the top right you'll notice a small gear icon, and tapping on that will get you through to the App settings where you can set up things to be the way you like them and also pick up some handy tips. I'll just show you how my settings are so that you can get an idea of the way I'm working. Now I'm still using the dark theme, however if you want to switch and use the light theme, that burns my eyes, then you can do that. You can find some help inside of here, and also you've got the option to reset all of your app preferences. And this legacy compositing mode which you turn on if you're getting any glitches with layer blending. I'm sure while they're just ironing out a few little things here and there. The Input area is the bit I want to focus on though just for now. So we've got these two options. We've got Touch and Keyboard, and Touch allows us to turn on things like the Touch indicator, and so that is what you're seeing just now. Wherever I tap my finger down this is helping me to do this course because the indicator's there. The Touch shortcut which you will almost definitely want to use and you'll see a movie on that later, a Stylus double-tap so that's an action for if you're using a stylus. And Stylus only painting which you'll see here is off, so I can paint with my finger also. You can view the gestures here as well so you get a view of those and also the various touch shortcuts. There's quite a few of those in there and if like me you've got a keyboard attached to your iPad, I've got a Bluetooth keyboard on here, then you can view all of the keyboard shortcuts, and you will find they are remarkably similar, as in exactly the same, as your desktop version of Photoshop. I'm sure you'll be relieved to find out. Now the other two things on there, Account, well you really don't need to see my account details, and About, really, is the credits associated with the app, and some things that you can follow on social media. And so there we are. We'll close that out and we're ready to begin.
