- [Instructor] Layer styles are, essentially, effects that can be applied to a layer in an easy and systematic way, and more than anything, Now as a designer that's a huge deal, so let's take a closer look. So here I have an ad that I've created and I'm going to come over here and click on the Text layer to make it active. Now, to add a layer style to a layer, We can come up to the Layer menu and choose Layer Style and you'll see that all of your layer style options are available here. to the bottom of the Layers panel and click on the fx button. Now, I'm going to start by choosing Drop Shadow. And you'll notice that it brings up the Layer Styles dialogue box. And the way that layer styles work is that as you click on a layer style, it'll show you the options that control how that layer style is going to appear. And you could turn on multiple layer styles at a time if you choose to. I don't really want to do that right now, but what I do want to show you is any of these layer styles…
