Lighting effects with adjustment layers

- [Instructor] In addition to applying color and tonal adjustments to your photographs or videos projects, adjustment layers can also be used to create lighting effects in both still and video composites. When combined with layer masks and keyframe transformations, you can apply them over time to integrate them into the video in a convincing way. So this project began life as a still composite of this rocky coastal scene with the old medieval tower on top of the sea stack, and then at a later time I decided to turn it into a video composite by adding the surf to the beach. And if you turn off all the layers and look at this from the ground up, you can see how this is put together. There's the surf, three layers to create a day for night effect and then the still composite with a layer mask that is revealing the surf only in this little area right here.
