Lightroom color correction with Temp and Tint
- Auto white-balance tools work fine for some photos. But for this one, there's a better way. Let's analyze the image. The background looks like a neutral gray. The spike to the left on the histogram confirms that. The color channels are overlapping, but her skin has a yellow cast to it. If you look at the area on the histogram that represents it, you can see the red and the yellow. Measuring the RGB values confirms what we're seeing. Now activate the eyedropper tool and click on the background to make it a neutral gray. See how the gray covers up all the other colors. We are now correctly white balanced for the background, but the most important color in any portrait is the skin color. That's what you want to correct for. The red and the yellow in the right of the histogram shows that her skin is still too warm. Hit Command-C to return to the original color. Keep the eyedropper active.
