Locking layers and groups

- [Instructor] There are a number of good reasons why you might actually want to lock a layer and I'm going to try and show you one here. I'm going to open the landscape group, like so and I'm going to target the landscape layer. Then with my move tool, I'm just going to drag this over and you'll see that because the content here was erased rather than masked, I've got these small lines going around it. So I'm just going to two finger tap there to undo. And I don't want to risk changing that layer anymore. So rather than locking the individual layer what I'm going to do is lock the entire group here. Now in the Options here, this is where I can lock my layer but you'll see there's nothing for the group. But if I collapsed the group on target the group then a padlock becomes available here on the right-hand side. And now when I tap on that it shows me instantly that that layer is locked.
