Luminosity masks for the Milky Way
- [Instructor] Let's continue working on the Milky Way over the Sierras image. We already have a luminosity mask that was created from the data in the red channel and then modified to make it better suited for a mask that can be used with an adjustment layer. Let's take that luminosity mask and send it to the stars where it can do some good. I'm going to go over to the channels panel, which is where we have that luminosity mask that we created, the red copy is what it's called. And I'm going to hold down the command key on a Mac, or the control key on Windows to load a selection of that mask. And with that key held down, I'll click on the thumbnail or the name of the mask to load the selection. I'll come back up to the top of the channels panel and click on the word for RGB and then click back on the tab for the layers panel. I'm going to come down to the bottom of the layers panel and click on the add adjustment layer…
