The Magic Wand tool
- Among the selection tools in Photoshop, the one that can be, I think, the most helpful in tricky situations is the Magic Wand tool. In the right situation, when you know how to use it, it can be a truly magical tool. And so let's take a look at that Magic Wand tool. First and foremost to select the Magic Wand tool, we'll need to go to the button for the Quick Selection tool on the toolbox, and then we can right-click or click and hold the left mouse button. That will bring up a fly-out menu where we can choose the Magic Wand tool. I'll go ahead and choose that tool, and then we'll see some familiar settings up on the options bar. There's the New Selection, Add to Selection, Subtract from Selection, or Intersect with Selection. That certainly is familiar. The anti-alias option is also familiar from the other selection tools. But we have a variety of other options here as well. Let's actually start over on the right-hand side and then move our way to the left. We'll start off with the…
