Masking a background image

- [Instructor] In this movie, we're gonna mask the background image so that the Camera Raw filter here is applied exclusively to the trees and the sky which will allow the snow to remain bright and blue. And we'll be using a combination of three different features in Photoshop, the calculations command, a levels adjustment, and the brush tool. So, those traditional three tools are gonna work out great. Alright, so I'm gonna switch to the Channels panel, and I'm gonna scroll up the list here so that I can see the red, green and blue channels. You may recall that the red channel has this really bright spot here. Well now that I've made all the adjustments with the Camera Raw filter, so does the green Channel, it's got a big bright spot as well. Whereas the blue channel looks like a grayscale version of the actual scene albeit in some very low focus. Alright, so what we're gonna do is blend the blue channel with itself using the calculations command. And so I'll go up to the Image menu…
