The Maximize Compatibility option

- [Narrator] In this movie we'll discuss this option right here, maximize compatibility. Which appears by default anytime you're saving a native PSD file, specifically one that contains layers. It's on by default as well, which I do not recommend, but let me tell you what's going on. In addition to saving all the various layers, and groups, and everything else that are going on inside of this image. Photoshop is going to add a flat version of the file, so that certain programs will be able to see the file. Not Photoshop of course, Photoshop's going to be able to see the layers no matter what, as will Adobe Bridge, Illustrator, and InDesign. And so the only Adobe programs you need to worry about are Lightroom and Premiere. So if you want to use your images with either Lightroom or Premiere. You want to go ahead and turn maximize compatibility on, otherwise, you don't. And the reason you don't is because it increases the…
