- [Teacher] There are some more settings that we can adjust in the New File dialogue. Normally, you can simply go with the default settings but it can't hurt to, at least take a brief look at the settings and learn what they mean. Here below the resolution value we can choose a color mode. It's normally preset to RGB color. On a computer screen the three colors red, green, and blue or RGB are used to mix all other colors and if you work in RGB color it basically means that all colors that we use in our artwork are defined by a mixture of these three colors. A reasonable alternative to RGB color is the CMYK mode. In printing the transparent colors cyan, magenta, and yellow I used to mix any other printable color. So, that's the three letters CMY and then there is black added to deepen the very dark colors so, that's where the K comes from it means black, or key because black is referred to as the key color in printing.
