Naming and organizing layers

Before we move to After Effects, it's a good idea to get things a bit more organized. I have a few strategies that I think are pretty important. First, in Photoshop, make sure that layers are named. You can do this by double-clicking on the name and typing in next to it. After all, untitled copy three is not as clear as brick wall. In this case, each layer is well named. So, I'll save this file and bring it into After Effects really quick with the import command, file/import/file. Let's select that image there, and import this as a composition. You'll notice in After Effects, you don't get the great visual thumbnails. But what we do have is the name. So there's brick wall and couple and the bush. In this case, it makes it a lot easier to see the individual layers and keep track of them. Clean names is a very good idea. Additionally, I recommend a little trick here.
