Naming and organizing layers

- If you have a messy layers panel, it's hard to know what you're working with. A lot of times things'll get complex, copies of copies, multiple layers, adjustment layers. Taking the time to organize things is worth doing. In this case I'm continuing to work with our previous example. We had a foreground element which worked pretty nicely here, and I'm going to call that Mountain. Now let's take a look here at this other brighter element. I'll turn that on, and that's okay, but I don't think that one's actually needed. I'll just drag it into the trash. Looking at the next layer for the background, that's pretty good, so I'm going to call that one Sky, but it's it a little bit bright for my liking. I'm actually going to take this other one that's darker, drag it above for a moment, and turn it on. That's too dark. In fact, let's blend these together. With that layer selected, I'm going to click to add a layer mask, and now it's very simple to grab my gradient tool and to paint from…
