- [Instructor] So let's take a look at the Photoshop workspace. We're going to start by creating a new file. We'll click on the create new button and this is the first important thing you need to know. If your file is going to be printed in its final form, then we want to make sure we start up here at print, so we get the right quality and the right size file. You can open a letter size file, tabloid size file. For fashion portfolio, I usually do tabloid. But for now, let's open a letter size file. Now when you click on that, it fills in all the information on this side of the screen. It's telling me it's eight and a half by 11. The resolution is 300 and the color mode is RGB and these things are very important. We need at least a 300 dpi resolution for a good print and we want to work in RGB because more Photoshop filters are available to us in RGB than any of the other color modes.
