Neutralizing photographic backgrounds
- [Instructor] So I've got some fashion illustrations here from my student Indica, and I'd like to show you some options for laying them out. Now oftentimes I find that designers want to lay out their illustrations on top of their mood boards and we can certainly give that a try, but overall, I find this to be really distracting. Since to me, the purpose of this is to show your work and not somebody else's photographs. It's not the best way to go, but if for whatever reason, you must, let's take a mood board and see how we can adjust it to make it work a little bit better. I'm going to turn off my figures for a minute just so you can see this. It's a little less distracting then a couple of the other ones because of these harder images here. So how can we work with this and make it work? Well, one option is to take that board and add an adjustment layer which is the cookie here and the one that we want is black and while.
