- [Narrator] Alright, now that we've finalized the mask, we're going to apply the alpha channel as a layer mask and then I'll show you how to soften the mask as well as how to reduce its impact using the nondestructive feather and density values. And so the first thing I'm gonna do is load this alpha channel as a selection by pressing the control key, or the command key on the Mac, and clicking on the alpha channel. Next you want to go ahead and switch to the RGB composite. Return to the layers panel. Make sure that middle guy layer is selected, and then drop down to the add layer mask icon at the bottom of the panel and click on it. And notice that we have a pretty decent mask that you might want to make a few additional modifications using the smudge tool. And so I'll go ahead and grab that tool, which if you load a diques, has a keyboard shortcut of N, because it was the one shortcut that was left over.
