- [Instructor] Hi and welcome to design tools weekly with me Tony Harmer. Now one of the frustrations of many designers involved in packaging is that they need to present a visual mock up to clients and that either involves making a physical version and photography or having 3D artists create a version. Origami is a plugin to Adobe Illustrator that folds up dye lines or nets you may refer to them as, to 3D objects and then can render or export them. Origami can be used for dye line verification and connects directly to Illustrator. So you can see your layout in 3D immediately without exporting anything. It has a really simple user interface and it's very straightforward. It uses layer names and path names to configure dye lines. So the illustrator projects don't depend on origami once finished. It has a paper type editor that lets you specify paper thickness and other parameters. And you can even include foil finishes.…
