Painting with the Art History Brush

- [Narrator] The art history brush can be a fun way to create painterly effects in Photoshop. I'll tap the Y key in order to select the art history brush. Now there are two brushes here. There's the history brush and the art history brush. We want the art history brush. The art history brush uses the snapshot in the history panel in order to create the paint strokes that we make in the image, and this means that no matter how many times we paint over an area in the image, the art history brush is always going to sample from the original photo, in this case the original snapshot. So this means we're not going to lose any quality and we get to paint with large brushes in some areas and then we can go with a smaller paint brush in another area in order to fill in detail, and all the while Photoshop will be sampling from the source.
