Photographing images as an alternative to scanning
My favorite way to bring images into the computer is with my digital camera and as it turns out, that works really well for bringing in existing imagery. Photographs, older photographs, really any printed photographs can be photographed with your digital camera and brought into Photoshop. It's convenient. We all have cameras. It's easy. In fact, in the case of the cameras that some of us have in our phones, you could do this anytime anywhere. You could be at a family member's house and see an old photograph that you really love, and you want to make sure that you can hold onto that, or maybe you want to offer to restore it. Even though the fidelity isn't the best, you could take your cameraphone and capture an image of that. Now, as with anything, there is a few tips and tricks you want to be aware of.
