Photoshop Dust & Scratches filter

- [Instructor] Sometimes you may run into a file where the regular noise reduction solutions don't work as well as you would like. This is sometimes an issue with older digital camera files or very long exposures, or, as is the case with this shot, underexposed images that have been significantly lightened. For those situations, there's a trick that may work using Photoshop's Dust & Scratches filter. I'm going to start out here in Adobe Camera Raw with the DNG file, and I've already applied some changes to this to lighten it up as I mentioned earlier, this has been significantly brightened. To check out the original version, come over to the top of the Basic tab and click on this little menu icon here in the upper right and choose Camera Raw Defaults so you can see how dark the original was.
