- [Instructor] Sometimes it's okay for a photo to look cut out and placed on a background. In this situation, it's best to use Photoshop Selection Tools to actually do the cutting out of the portions of the image you want and then to place the selected portions on a background. There are many other courses that go into Photoshop Selection Tools in great detail. However, the details of these tools are beyond the scope of this course. Here are some of the tools. The marquee tool, lasso and magnetic lasso, magic wand, quick mask, quick selection, selecting by color range, and more. Photoshop has wonderful ways to select almost anything that you wanna select. So let's jump in with an example or two of how you do use Photoshop Selection Tools with a background where you only want a portion of your image to be applied to the background.
