Photoshop type techniques

- [Chris] Hello friends, this is Chris Orwig and welcome to another Photo Tools Weekly quick tip. In this week's episode, we're going to focus in on a few Photoshop-type techniques. All right, well, here we have a photograph of yours truly with some type that I've added above and I first want to talk about how we can select the type and change its color. Now, one method of course is to use the type tool and then to highlight the text field and then from there choose a color, but that's a little tedious. A faster way is to actually just double click the type icon. That will select the type there and then of course we can go in and choose a color. I'll choose a nice bright orange there and then click OK. You can either click on the check mark to render or apply that or just click into a new layer. That works as well. Again, double click that layer and then here you can choose a color for that text field that you want to use and then click OK. Click out and that will apply that. Okay, great, so we've selected text and we've changed its color. Let's say we want to move things around a little bit. We can use the move tool and go to a specific layer and reposition and we can do this layer by layer, but it's a little bit tedious especially if you have a lot of text. A better way is to hold down the Command key on a Mac, Control on Windows, would you have the move tool. That will temporarily turn on auto select. Then when you Command or Control click a layer, you can then select it and move this around. And here I'm just trying to move this around so I have this little Photo Tools Weekly message here above. All right, last tip for you is if ever you need to align text, go to your layers, click into one layer, hold down the Shift key, and then click in the other layer so they're all selected. Up top in the options bar, you have some align controls. You could align these to the left, so that they're all centered, or so that they have equal spacing between the various lines. All right, well, I hope that you enjoyed those Photoshop-type tips. Thanks for joining me in this week's episode. I'll look forward to seeing you next time. Have a wonderful day. Bye for now.
