- [Instructor] Textures bring out the romantic in any photographer. While textures can be used for many different kinds of visual effects, probably creating an aura of romantic impressionism is the most common use. Typically this involves adding brush strokes to an image. So, let's get started with an example. The photo you see here was made in a hospital that's falling apart on an island off the coast of Spain. You can see the yellow flowers in the foreground are kind of romantic but they lack a little bit of definition, so let's try adding one of Flypaper's textures to this. Tempera. So, I've added pink tempera off to the top of my hospital image like this and let's see how it looks. Well, it's kind of interesting. It adds a certain something. Why don't we try another blending mode? I'm starting with a darkened group and I've multiply. Do you know what I find? I like this multiply very much for what it does to the sky but I'm not all that fond of what it does down below. So, the way…
