Powerful posterization techniques
- [Illustrator] While technically not a filter using Photoshop's poster eyes adjustment layer is an easy way to limit the number of colors in order to create a more graphic or painterly look from the bottom of the layers panel, I'll click on the adjustment layer icon and then choose poster eyes. I'll set the levels to four, but you can see there are more than four colors in the image area. That's because Photoshop is poster rising each one of the red, green, and blue channels. So I'm actually getting 16 colors. In order to limit it to four I'll click on the background layer and then use the adjustment layer icon in order to add a black and white adjustment layer. Now I can use the different sliders in order to control the way that the different color ranges are adjusted or converted to gray scale. As we can see, there are now only four levels.
