Prepare a custom layer mask transition

- [Instructor] We've already seen how easy it is to animate aspects of a layer using keyframes. One of the things that you can attach keyframes to are layer masks, which makes it possible to create custom transitions between video clips or for special effects when you want to fade out elements like text and titles. In this project, we'll create a layer mask that can be used for a custom fade effect. So in this file I have a couple of video clips and a title layer, and it's one of the transitions sequences in the Bear River title sequence, so let's just play this and get a look at it. Now we have the titles coming in, then this door opening up, and my idea is at about this point, I wanna have the title text start to fade away. But I wanna do it in a more customized, creative way than just using one of the default transitional effects that are available here at the top of the timeline panel.
