Preventing shadow/highlight clipping

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll introduce you to the shadows and highlights options which help you to prevent the clipping of shadows and highlights respectively. So the first thing I'm going to do to slim down the size of this exercise file is select the lower fish layer and press the back space key here on the PC or the delete key on a Mac to get rid of it. Then, I'll go ahead and double click on Smart Sharpen in order to bring up the Smart Sharpen dialog box. I'm going to click on this little bluish detail right there. Notice this little guy? I'm going to zoom in on it, so that we can see it very closely. Actually I'll zoom in just a little more, and notice if I click and drag which turns off the preview for a moment it's obviously blue, but then when I release, you can see that the inside has gone white thanks to the halo that's been drawn by the radius value. So what we have is, effectively, a clipped highlight. I don't want that of course, and the way to get rid of it is to…
