- [Man Deep Voice] All right, so we've seen our light sources, strobes and torches. In this movie we're going to focus on the benefits and drawbacks. That is to say the pros and cons associated with each. And we're going to start off with the pros of strobes. - [Man] One of the biggest benefits of strobes is that they can put out a large amount of light. There has definitely been a lot of progress, and there's still more progress being made, in terms of how much light LED torches are able to put out. But it's going to be quite awhile before they're able to put out the same amount of power as a strobe is, especially in such a compact package. One of the other great benefits of strobes is they have really good battery life. You can easily get a couple dives out of a strobe, generally, because it's not on all the time. It's only on when you're firing it, which isn't all the time. Another great benefit of strobes is the ability to do what we call TTL, or through the lens metering, which…
