Quickly change the color of an icon
- [Jan] This is a quick way to experiment with different colors for an icon or a logo. Start with an illustration on a transparent background. The key to this technique is to go to the top of the Layers panel and click the Lock Transparent Pixels icon. That adds a lock symbol to the icon layer. Choose Window. Gradients. To open the Gradients preset panel. Which contains lots of gradient presets that you can use on your illustration. Click any folder like this Oranges folder to open it. And then click on any preset in that folder to automatically fill the icon with that gradient. The gradient fills only the icon and not the transparent pixels. Because the lock transparency feature is still active. Continue clicking on other gradient presets to quickly experiment with other colorations for your icon. Now, here's a bonus tip.
