- [Instructor] Rating your images helps you come up with a short list from a pool of images. To apply ratings, you simply click on the thumbnail and then use the Label menu, or you can use the keyboard shortcuts Command-one through five. Alternatively if you come to your Preferences and to your labeled preferences, you can uncheck this box so that you no longer need the Modifier key, but can apply ratings simply with one, two, three, etc. It's up to you to come up with your own system of what the ratings mean, but to apply them consistently, especially if you're applying them over a lot of images over a period of time, it might help to write down what your definitions are. For example, maybe a one-star rating means the image is technically proficient, it's in-focus, well-framed, but is in other respects unremarkable and could've been shot by anyone. Two stars might mean that in addition to being technically proficient, it is also offering some sort of interpretation. Three stars might…
