Real-world layer masking

- [Instructor] Alright, now let's take a swing at a more real-world application of layer masking, in which we take this model and place her against this background, in order to create this final composition. And, what what I love about this effect, is that we're able to maintain both the soft edges along this x-ray, as well as these very fine strands of hair. We'll be doing so using multiple applications of the Color Range command, along with the Select and Mask workspace. So, let's start off inside this stock image, once again, from the Fotolia image library. Now, I want to see how this image fairs against a white background, and so, I'll start by double-clicking on the background item here inside the Layers panel, and I'll call this new layer model, and then, I'll press the D key, followed by the X key, which is going to make my foreground color white. Next, I'll go up to the Layer menu, choose New Fill Layer, and choose Solid Color, and I'll call this layer white. After which…
