The Reduce Noise filter

- In addition to the noise reduction capabilities that are available in Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop also has a Reduce Noise filter. In my opinion, however, it's not as effective as what you can do with noise reduction in Camera Raw. But it's worth a quick look, just so you know what to expect. This image was shot at an ISO of 25600. I have already applied noise reduction in Adobe Camera Raw and opened up a section of it here as a smart object into Photoshop. You can see that here, in the top layer, the NR and ACR, and if you were to double-click on the thumbnail for this smart object layer, it would, of course, open up the Camera Raw dialogue where you could see the full image, and you could click on the detaiL tab and check out what my noise reduction settings are. I'm just going to cancel this, we can go back to Photoshop, and I'm going to zoom up close, so we can check this out in detail. I'll use the shortcut of…
