- When you're finished combining the different exposures of a night-scene using layers, blend modes, and layer masks, one of the last phases of a project often involves refining the image with some creative adjustments. Let's explore a few of these. We'll also let me show you some additional techniques. I'm going to click on the summit_03 layer to make it active. And what I want to do is add an adjustment that allows me to manipulate the red color on the rocks independently of everything else. So I'm going to come down to the Add Adjustment Layer button in the bottom of the Layers panel and I'll come down in this little dropdown menu and choose Hue Saturation. In the Hue Saturation Properties panel, I can manipulate the saturation of this, but notice that it's affecting not only the red color on the rocks, but also the red of the light trails and the road underneath.
