Refinements with blend modes and adjustment layers

When I'm working on a composite, one of the things that I like to ask myself is, "What would this scene look like "if it was actually happening?" And I like to ask this question even if the story of the composite is obviously a fictional scene that could never be real, such as the case of the man in the bottle in this image. I then try to find answers to that question, and in those answers I often find ways that I can make the composite more convincing. So let's take a look at what's going on with our image as it stands now. While we have the photo of the man scaled down to the proper size, and the layer mask makes it look as if he is behind the rock in the foreground, it still looks like a cut out image that's floating on top of the bottle. Now, if I turn the layer of the man off, and we take a look at just the bottle, one thing that's apparent is that there is a a noticeable reflection on the glass surface.
