Removing the background

- [Instructor] What if you've already rendered your illustrations by hand using some other media like marker or watercolor, but you need to make changes? Well we can still do that in Photoshop. The first thing you need to do is scan in your image, and you're going to want to scan it in full color at a resolution of 300 DPI. Now we can work with it. Let's start by getting rid of the background. If you've rendered your illustration on a piece of solid colored paper that has a plain background, this becomes a really, really easy task. Now, I've got an illustration here that was done by my student, Rachel Kim, and she has allowed me to use this for demos, so thanks, Rachel. We're going to get rid of the background. And to do that we are going to use the magic eraser. The magic eraser is sitting here with the erasers. It's the one on the bottom.
