Removing larger elements from an image

- [Instructor] When trying to remove larger elements in an image, such as this second deer here in the background, it might be best to copy a really large region of good information in order to replace that unwanted content. So I'll select the lasso tool, and just click and drag in order to select a really large area of the flowers here. Then I'll copy that to its own layer by selecting layer, new, and then layer via copy. Once it's on its own layer, I'm going to scoot it over by using the move tool and repositioning it on top of that second deer. Then instead of trying to guess at the area that I need to take away, I find it easier to hold down the Option key on the Mac or the Alt key on Windows, and click on the mask icon in order to add a black mask and hide everything that's on that layer.
