Scanning a large image in multiple pieces

- You may find yourself wanting to turn into a digital file, a large, oversized document. Maybe it's a historical book or a large printed photo or perhaps a painting made by a family member that you want to capture and turn into a digital image. Well fortunately this is pretty easy to do if you have a traditional scanner and Photoshop. What I want to show you is how easy this is to load into the computer. Now essentially, we're going to cut this up into small pieces. But before you panic, I don't actually mean physically cut it up, I just mean scan it in separate passes. And as long as those passes have some overlap, much like a panoramic photo, Photoshop is able to assemble those pieces together. Now I recommend you open up your scanner and make sure that it's clean. If you see any major smudges on the surface, you'll want to clean that ahead of time. Just take a soft, non-abrasive cloth, spray the cloth directly, and gently wipe the scanner down. Which should work fine. Give it a…
