Scrolling (panning)

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you the most basic ways to scroll or, if you prefer, pan an image on screen, so that you can determine the exact portion of the image that appears inside the image window. Now I happen to be looking at this large, vertically oriented image. And let's say I quite naturally want to zoom in. Well, if I press control plus, or command plus on the Mac, a bunch of times, then I'll end up zooming in on the center of the image, which takes me to this button, which, quite naturally, is not the portion of the image that I want to see on screen. Now, if you're working on the Mac, then you can take advantage of any of the standard panning gestures. So, for example, if you have a track pad, then you can do a two finger drag to move either up, or down, or to the left or to the right. So, any direction at all. If you're working with a magic mouse, then it's just a single finger drag. Most of us on the PC, however, are working with mice that have scroll wheels…
