- [Instructor] Before we can turn this photo into this, we need to break up the image in a bunch of different sections so that we can apply the fabric properly. And we need to break it up in sections that align with the pattern pieces of the garment. So I've already selected the entire dress, and I saved my selection so we can load it. And it's called Full Dress, click OK. And now you can see my marching ants, the entire dress is selected. I need to copy this to a new layer. And the easiest way to do that is to use the shortcut Command or Control + J to jump it to a new layer. And I'll turn off the background layer so you can see what we've done. And now I need to select and separate the rest of the pieces. But it's a little bit easier to do, because I don't have to worry about making this outer selection now.
