Sectioning your illustration

- Before I can start adding fabric fills to this illustration, I'm gonna need to divide it up into pieces. We're gonna work with the coat. So I'm gonna select the top, scroll all the way down, hold the Shift key, select the skin, and then grab this little file folder here to put all these other files in the group. It'll just make it easier to deal with the Layers panel so we can work on the coat. Now, I always like to duplicate the layer I'm working with. So now I've got two coats, and I'm gonna turn the eye off on one of them and we're gonna work with the one on top. We're gonna break this coat up into a bunch of different pieces, because the fabric is gonna lay and warp in different directions. So we're gonna use natural lines in the fabric or pattern pieces in order to do this. So let's start with the sleeve. I'm in the Coat Copy layer, we'll zoom in, and you can use any of the selection tools you're comfortable with. I'm gonna use the lasso tool, and go ahead and select the…
