Selecting all pixels

- One of the simplest selections to create in Photoshop would be selecting all pixels, the entire image essentially. Of course, on the surface, that might not seem like the most useful selection, and in fairness, it's not a selection that you're likely to use all that often, but it still can be useful in certain situations. So let's take a look at this very simple approach to creating a selection. To select all pixels, I can quite simply go to the select menu and then choose all. Note, by the way, that the keyboard shortcut is shown over toward the right. So in addition to choosing select all from the menu, you can press control A on Windows or command A on Macintosh in order to select all pixels in the image. So I'll go ahead and choose that command. And we can see that sure enough our selection outline goes around the entire perimeter of the photo. We've selected the entire image.
