Selecting the border of a selection
- One of the selection modification commands that you are least likely to use but that can be interesting nevertheless is the border option, the ability to essentially create a selection that defines just the border of an existing selection. It is not something you're likely to use all that often but it is rather interesting and it might inspire some creative effects that you could apply to an image. Let's take a look at an example I'll create a border effect for this image. I'm going to start of in this case very simply with a rectangular marquee selection and I'll just create a selection that is pretty close to the edge of the image, not super close but reasonably close to that selection edge. And right about there will be a good result close to the edge but not too close. And then I want to create a selection so at the moment I've already created a selection of course I have the interior portion of the image selected and the outer portion the edge of the image not selected, but…
