- When it comes to choosing, the particular technique you might use to create a selection one of the key things is to figure out what makes the area you want to select unique? Sometimes, that might be color difference and in fact in some cases it might seem that a selection is going to be nearly impossible but if there's at least a little bit of color difference between the area that you want to select and the rest of the image you might be able to create a selection surprisingly easily, with the technique I'm going to show you. The ability to create a selection based on a color Channel. Now, to help illustrate the concept, I'm going to use an image that will work pretty well with this technique, but bear in mind, that the same technique can work surprisingly well in a wide variety of situations. Anytime there is a degree of color variation in the areas you want to select versus not, this tool, this technique is worth trying. The key here is the Channels panel. So I'll go to that…
