Set black and white points in Photoshop

- [Instructor] One way to correct a color cast is to neutralize black and white points using your curves adjustment layer. First we need to find the black and white points. You can guess but sometimes your eyes can fool you. A more accurate way is to use the threshold adjustment layer, add the layer, activate the eyedropper and set the sample size to five by five. Move this slider to the left. The last black is the darkest area in the photo, but good color on the subject is more important than the background. So I select an area close to her. Put the eyedropper over this spot, hold down the shift key and click. This sets the black point. Now pull the slider to the right. A white point shouldn't be set in a specular highlight, teeth or eyes. Sometimes you can't find one and that's okay. This photo has one on the base.
