- [Instructor] Continuing on with that, let's take a look at, yet another set of controls that are common to all operating modes of the VRay Light. These being found in the Units dropdown. Now, one of the things that we definitely need to keep in mind as we work through this course and have already mentioned, is the fact that the VRay Light by default mimics the standard behavior of real world light sources, and the bigger the light emitting surface is, the brighter the light and the softer the shadows coming from it. Depending on our current project, though, this may not always be the behavior that we want, even when working on a scene that requires a photographic approach to rendering. As sometimes we may want our light to output a very specific intensity value using a very specific real world lighting unit, regardless of the light size in the scene, which is where the Units dropdown can come into play.
