Sharpening for print in Lightroom
- For me one of the strangest things about printing in Lightroom is the fact that you don't need to concern yourself with sizing your image, Lightroom takes care of that for you. And honestly, it's a hard thing to get used to. As you should know from earlier in this course, sharpening and image size are interrelated. You ideally want to sharpen an image after its been resized to its target print size. This helps ensure that the sharpening halos that the software is creating are the correct width for your final image size. Since Lightroom hides a lot of sizing control from you you just have to take it on faith that it's sizing in an ideal way and using the best sharpening settings for that size. If you're a real stickler for sharpness you can do some test prints from Lightroom to find out if the things that it's doing automatically are up to your standards.
