Size, shadows, and highlights

- [Instructor] If you were to ask the average person why they might put a light in a room, there is a really good chance that the majority would say something along the lines of so that you can see what you were doing, which whilst also true for artists of all types who use light in order to create their imagery is only part of the story really, as they would also put lights in a room in order to capture a mood, to tell a story, and very oftentimes to help frame their compositions. For these and all the reasons then, we're going to look very briefly in this video at three aspects of a light source that will always be important to artists who were looking to captivate and engage viewers. These being the size of a light, the type of shadows being created by it, and the highlight effect that it produces on a given surface. Of course, on the face of it, light size could sound like a bit of a strange thing to be talking…
