Smart Objects
- [Instructor] Smart objects allow you to maximize the quality of images without discarding any valuable information along the way. There are several ways to leverage smart objects and I'd like to show you a few of them now. Now starting here with the scene.psd image open and what I'd like to show you is that if you go to the file menu in Photoshop, you have two options which are Place Embedded, and Place Linked. Both of these options are going to create a smart object, the difference is that the Place Linked option is actually going to link to the image that you point to wherever it lives, whether it's on your hard drive or a server or whatever. Place Embedded, is going to embed a version of this placed image inside of this Photoshop file. So depending on what behavior you want, you can choose the appropriate option. So I'm going to choose place embedded, and I'm actually going to come in here and grab the Bottles.psd image and I'm going to go head and click place, and that's going…
