Smoothing edges with the Smudge tool
- [Instructor] Alright, so at the end of the previous movie, I was mentioning how choppy the beard and other hair detail looks. But it's actually much worse than all this. If you take a very close look at this shoulder, you can see that we have a bunch of random pixels that are showing up. And that's a function of some bad edges in the mask. And so I'm gonna go ahead and alt click or option click on the layer mask thumbnail here inside the layers panel, and notice this gook right here. That is not what we want. And you may even be able to make out these sort of dark gray gnats up here. The idea being that all of this region should be all together black, and it's not. Alright, so the first thing you want to do is switch to the brush tool, which you can get of course by pressing the B key, and then I'll right-click inside the image window just to bring up this pop-up panel. I'll confirm that the hardness value is 100 percent, and I'll crank up the size value to 100 pixels. And then…
