Smoothing skin texture in Photoshop

- [Instructor] For most of this course, I've talked about protecting texture, but this time there's too much. The high pass filter is one way to smooth out the bumps. Duplicate the layer, go to Image, Adjustments, and select Invert. Change the blending mode to Vivid Light. Now go to Filter, Other and choose High Pass. Adjust the radius until you just begin to lose the texture. Sometimes it's easier to look at the photo while making this adjustment. Go back to Filter and pick Gaussian Blur. Again, adjust the radius until you lose the detail. Hold down the Alt Option key and Add A Mask. This fills it with black. Activate the Brush tool and set the brush opacity to around 50. And now paint on the mask where you want to hide the bumps. One time will fade them. Two times will hide them completely. And that looks nice. Now, one thing I do want to point out, the color of her skin doesn't follow the formulas we've been using…
