- [Deke] In this chapter we're going to discuss the elements of exposure, which include strobe, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO as they apply to underwater photography. And all will become increasingly clear as we proceed through these movies, starting with our primary sources of light. - [Hergen] So underwater we have two sources of light, ambient and artificial, ambient being light from the sun and artificial, which is light from strobes or LED torches. However, with more prevalent use of LED torches for underwater photography, we need to modify that terminology slightly. So what we're going to do is we're going to talk about continuous light. And continuous light is going to include both the ambient light, so the light from the sun, and also the light from LED torches. And this is, of course, different from strobe light, which only includes light generated by our strobes.
